CDI schematic from Honda Transalp X600V
CDI schematic from Honda Transalp X600V
This was my collection that I got from my experience time a couple years ago.
That was the bike that the CDI taken from… I think it doesn’t even exist in my country:). The old bike.... but the CDI doesn’t seem too old, it have good quality and technique design.
And here is the picture of the CDI.
This CDI has two output, that mean there are two ignition out of this CDI. Not as old as the bike look I think...
This CDI have similar design with CDI Shogun that I had. They use same CDI, and the principal design are still the same. The inverter design and the input filter… had some simplicity in Shogun CDI, and the output just one….

CDI Schematic for CDI Honda Grand - Shindengen
Schematic CDI of Honda Grand Shindengen
This is my schematic diagram of Shindengen CDI from Honda Grand Motorcycle.
I build this a couple years ago. If you wanna know how to drill it, just like my old article with Shogun CDI.
I actually had this given from my friend, already opened up, and it was dead. So i had to modifying it and use it for my CDI. But before that, i already (must) draw some circuit diagram of this CDI.
Of course this process doesn't come easy, and there was some component that already broken and there was others can't be viewed anymore. So, there will be a couple of component that missing or i don't know the value of it.
So,here it is the schema of Shindengen CDI

Get it on The Bike
So, after all modification completed... now time to put it on the bike. And this is how it's looks. I hope it can give something useful for you, and thanks for reading!
Well...like i said before... the looks isn't very important to me... so this CDI maybe had a little ugly look he he. That's fine cause i just need the performance it get for my motorcycle. And anyway nobody will to see it cause covered in the bike 's body.

Inside of CDI Shogun part 2
After you remove all rubber from CDI, you can start modifying the PCB. And this is the picture of mine. Actually i didn't use this CDI but i use the Shindengen CDI. But, this picture i hope can give some explanation or something like that. I had the experiment using this Shogun CDI before, but it's stuck when the switching transformer get burn. If you take a look the last picture you will see there is no transformer in the CDI except a couple of cable. You are right! I've just took it out, because it was broken. And it is so tiny to me to wind the enamel by my own hand, I have had tried this a couple of times but always fail. The output voltage never reach the original, so i decided to stop this experiment. Well, maybe latter i got another tool to make it out, wish me luck :)

Inside of Shogun CDI
This is the picture of the inside CDI Suzuki Shogun that i had. There are a couple type of this CDI antually. I have had found two of them that i opened. The other CDI was mounted on solid hard plastic, very hard to rid. and this was mad with transistor only, no IC at all in this CDI. There for this IC really had no limiter inside it. But maybe there are any stability loss compared to the IC ones.
I had this CDI died before in my hand anyway, so i never had to use it on my bike. it was belong to my friend, taken from old Shogun bike, named "Shogun Kebo" in my place because of it's body so big like buffalo. So that CDI really original ones and have no limiter on it. But the new CDI was using limiter, I guess, well i just couldn't grab every CDI and then open it anyway.
So this is my picture. First you had to open the outer black case with some sharp knife, and cut it away. Then you have to remove semi rubber plastic inside it with hot solder. It will need a lot of patience, until you get rid all of them like what shows on the picture.
After all removed, then you can get trace of the pcb and made some modification on it.
